2020: D is for Defender

On 23 October, 2019 I spent hours worshipping with just this song “Defender” and I drew as I worshipped. As I reviewed the drawing, I saw them – the hidden enemies.
In the drawing, I had scribbled in light pencil, in between mountain ridges, serpents waiting, enemies lurking, darkness and evil, all hidden; no longer visible unless you really looked for it.
Invisible Warfare
I pondered.
The mode of warfare is very different today and in the not too distant future, from Cyberwarfare to Electronic Warfare (EW).
THE MODE OF WARFARE IS VERY DIFFERENT TODAY AND IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE, FROM CYBERWARFARE TO ELECTRONIC WARFARE (EW)
Wikipedia writes:
“EW can be applied from air, sea, land, and/or space by manned and unmanned systems, and can target humans, communication, radar, or other assets (military and civilian).”
The day will soon come when anyone with the technology may be able to commandeer any device or vehicle from a remote location, with or without a driver, and to cripple anything run on internet and power.
China’s Technological Prowess
In a report titled : Automakers embrace 5G for smart vehicles in China Daily on 28 Feb 2019: “Chinese automaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group has announced a major partnership to put its first 5G and C-V2X-enabled vehicles into mass production by 2021, as the country's car industry enters the fast lane of intelligent-connected vehicles with the approach of 5G commercialization.
C-V2X, also known as Cellular Vehicle-To-Everything, is a wireless technology that enables communication among vehicles, people and traffic infrastructure.”
C-V2X, ALSO KNOW AS CELLULAR VEHICLE-TO-EVERYTHING, IS A WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY THAT ENABLES COMMUNICATION AMONG VEHICLES, PEOPLE AND TRAFFIC INFRASTRUCTURE.
“By applying such technologies, vehicles, be they human-driven or driverless, can know in real-time what's ahead of them. Geely added that currently, some of its autonomous models have arrived at Level 2, but with the introduction of these technologies, they will be lifted to Level 3 by the end of 2021.
Level 2 means "hands-off"－the automated system takes full control of the vehicle, but the driver must monitor the driving and be prepared to intervene immediately at any time.
Level 3 refers to "eyes off"－the vehicle will handle situations which require an immediate response, and the driver must still be prepared to intervene within some limited time.
Level 5 is the highest standard, which means no human intervention is required at all.
Major Chinese vehicle manufacturers are stepping up efforts to promote related technologies.
Traditional carmakers are striving to join hands with tech companies to accelerate the progress.”
I thought to myself:
“Has President Trump of the US rightly barred US companies from doing any business with Huawei, the world’s largest network equipment supplier from China, ahead with its 5G technology, to prevent China from gaining the upper hand in a potential cyber war? Or is it just part of his ploy to pressure China into paring down their huge bulging trade deficit?”
Apparently, this has been flagged by the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance (FVEY) comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US as a threat to national security. Canada has also put Huawei’s global CFO, the oldest child of the founder, under house arrest since Dec 2018, to face extradition to the US, on charges of breaking US sanctions against Iran.
Fighting without Boots on the Ground
In Sep 2019, the world witnessed the a bomb attack on oil tankers by drones in the Middle East for which to this day, no one can prove who is the aggressor. US pointed its fingers at Iran which it has vehemently denied.
I understand why the Lord showed me that the enemy is now no longer very visible.
On 3 January 2020, the US military carried out a drone attack at Iraq’s airport in Baghdad, targeting and killing Iranian major general Qasem Soleimani, considered the second most powerful person in Iran, enraging Iranians and Iraqis alike, all screaming for American blood, vowing to avenge his death.
Dangerous and Dark Times
The year 2020 certainly does not look very safe and it is also very dark as we really do not know who is telling the truth and who is spewing lies.
THE YEAR 2020 CERTAINLY DOES NOT LOOK VERY SAFE AND IT ALSO VERY DARK AS WE REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH AND WHO IS SPEWING LIES
But I feel assured by the lyrics of the song:
“All I did was praise,
all I need to do is worship,
Lord I will just bow down,
I’m just gonna stay still…”
Thank God that D is also for Defender. We can all sleep a little better with Jesus as our Great Defender.
